Below is a list of my 12 favorite posts from 2013. These were either 1) fun to research & write, or 2) particularly useful discoveries that I was eager to share. Annotate, Combine PDFs & Make Your Own Ebooks with PDF-XChange & PDFill PDF Tools

If you’re like most of us you probably have PDF files scattered all over your computer, tablet or smart phone. And if you’re a student or self-directed learner, you almost certainly buried in PDFs of course outlines, class notes, slide collections, etc. Wouldn’t it be great if you could annotate and combine some of these to make your own custom ebooks? With these two free programs, PDF-XChange and PDFill PDF Tools, you can do all this and more!

This video shows how you can:
1. Annotate and edit PDF files using the free software tool PDF-XChange.
2. Combine PDFs into a single ebook with unique headers and other enhancements to make custom reference guides, study tools, etc. using the free PDFill PDF Tools.

Nearly every day, while exercising or waiting in line somewhere, I crank up my little MP3 player and listen to one of Brian Johnson’s 20-minute PhilosophersNotes. These are his distillations of some of the “big ideas” mined from a whole bunch of powerful Self-Help and Philosophy books, delivered via Brian’s upbeat and informal “friendly philosopher” narrations. What’s more, if I need to revisit some of those “big ideas” later and steal a quote or two, I just call up the matching PDF that accompanies each note.

All-in-all, his PhilosophersNotes really live up to Brian’s claim that they are “the ultimate personal growth tool. Giving you more wisdom in less time.”
